established 2013 to complete the DPU’s need for the engineering staff and students who are graduating from the Technical Institutes Departments and make the chances available in the fields of Highways and Bridges, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning. According to our survey in Duhok zone it has been seen that ≈84% of the engineering government offices and private sectors need these two specializations. In addition to the above mentioned two departments, the Department of Petrochemical Engineering is opened in 2015. The time period of the study is four years and the students award B.Sc. in Technical Engineering.

Energy Engineering
About
The Energy Engineering Department was established in 2016 as one of the infrastructural of the Technical Engineering College at Dohuk Polytechnic University DPU. and is one of the three departments in the Technical engineering college as mentioned before.
Objective:
The Department offers a Bachelor’s degree in Energy Engineering, which is focused on engineering science in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, solid mechanics, heat transfer, materials, power system and conversion. According to our study plan, the student will get a broad and intensive knowledge in renewable energy technologies, mainly in Photo-voltaic (PV/CPV), Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) and Wind Energy. The program plans to includes a number of elective courses that permit the student to undertake further studies in the field of other sustainable technologies such as Biomass Energy and Hydropower.
Vision:
To be able to look at the limitless sky above our heads, we need to trust the solid ground beneath our feet. The goal is to create a robust energy engineering firm today, to ensure the takeoff that we need for the limitless sky of tomorrow. Our vision is to pave the road to sustainability and affordability in renewable energy systems.
Mission:
To train students who will plan, project, apply and develop national strategies for the production, delivery and economic use of all kinds of sufficient, qualified, sustainable, low-cost and environmentally friendly energy.
Highways and Bridges
Vision:
The vision of the Highways and Bridges department is to be a distinct solo section in the area of specialization in the field of precision engineering and producing well-prepared graduate, and to meet the requirements of society and renewable associated with rapid technological developments.
Mission:
The mission of the Department of highways and bridges engineering is to produce graduates who possess technical competence in their chosen specialty area of civil engineering, integrity, and a commitment to the principles of professionalism, and enhance their practical skills that will prepare them to serve and contribute as innovators, professional engineers, and leaders in the region.
Goals:
- Prepare graduates who possess the technical competence in the field of specialization, which has been selected from engineering roads and bridges
- Integrity and commitment to the principles of professional
- Enhance their practical skills that will prepare them to serve the community
- Leadership and management of engineering projects
Petrochemical
Mission:
The petrochemical Engineering Department at Duhok Polytechnics University is an exciting department for learning and research. Petrochemical engineers have made important contribution to the society. Actually, this department is dealing with the chemical products extracted from petroleum. The petrochemical engineers have the ability to developing the economic ways of using chemistry and engineering to turn raw materials into usable products such as medicine and plastics for industries. The courses of this department include very important subjects such as Chemical Reactors, Heat Transfer, Mass Transfer, Fluid Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Process Control, Unit Operations and Petroleum Refinery. In fact, these courses are built on a foundation in the sciences of Chemistry and Physics. Furthermore, the course contents, professional training program and projects are designed to prepare the graduates to work as petrochemical engineers for dealing with oil and gas extraction and production, rather than the chemical alteration of the raw materials. Moreover, after completion the undergraduate programs, students can work in petroleum geologists, drilling engineers, reservoir engineers and production engineers.
Vision:
our vision to build technic petrochemical engineers that will building a largest sophisticated petroleum refinery as well as petrochemicals plants in Kurdistan to cover all chemicals and petrochemical products.
